Diving cylinders and parts thereof
A diving cylinder is an integral part of a diver's equipment. Two types of cylinders are mainly used for diving: steel and aluminum. The working pressure of steel cylinders can be from 200 to 300 BAR. The working pressure of aluminum cylinders is only 200 BAR. Aluminum cylinders are usually used as additional cylinders for diving to greater depths (over 30m). Aluminum cylinders have neutral buoyancy underwater. If you decide to use an aluminum cylinder as the main one, be aware that more lead will need to be added. As for the capacity of the cylinders, it can be from 1 to 20 liters. The most popular are 12-liter cylinders. Cylinders have an expiration date. In Lithuania, cylinder inspections are mandatory every 5 years.
