History of beach tennis in Lithuania
Beach tennis has reached Lithuania relatively recently, just five years ago (2011), but this sport is well known and quite popular in the world. The height of the beach tennis net reaches 1 m 70 cm, and the dimensions of the court on which it is played are the same as those of volleyball (16 meters long and 8 meters wide). Beach tennis is usually played on sand, but the most important thing is a hard surface, so this sport can be easily practiced in the cold season or even indoors. Beach tennis is not limited not only by location, time of year, but also by age. This sport is perfect for people of any age or physical fitness.

The length of the racket is usually about 47-50 cm, and the thickness is about 2 cm. Another important component is the ball. The beach tennis ball is very similar in appearance, size, and weight to a regular outdoor tennis ball, but is usually orange. The ball for this sport has specific requirements, the compliance of which is confirmed by the International Tennis Federation. Balls that meet the requirements are marked with the three-letter abbreviation ITF (International Tennis Federation). And finally, the net. The height of the beach volleyball net must be 1 m 70 cm ( the crossbar , on which the net is usually attached, is even higher), and the ball is thrown through it with rackets.
