Diving, diving equipment and diving courses

Diving, compared to other sports, is quite difficult. Not everyone can decide on it and find the desire and effort, because even amateur diving can be done only after completing diving courses led by an instructor, and those who want to engage in this sport professionally must also obtain certificates confirming their qualifications. The certificate must correspond to the type of diving that the athlete intends to practice. Diving is divided into several types, the most common of which are: recreational, technical and cave diving.

Diving in Lithuania is not as popular as in countries located near large bodies of water, but there are professionals in our country as well, however, there are few high-quality diving centers. More precisely, there are almost none, as there is only one PADI IDC five-star center in the entire Baltic region.

Diving courses

As already mentioned, those who want to dive must have completed at least a minimum of courses conducted by a diving instructor. During the courses, they are not only introduced to diving equipment , the principles of its use and operation, but also to safety requirements. Diving associations (and PADI is the largest recreational diving organization in the world) regulate the rules that must be followed when diving. The latter are especially important when engaging in sports or technical diving, when diving to greater depths. During diving courses, you learn how to safely dive and emerge, at what speed these stages should be performed, what body position you need to maintain so that the maneuvers are smooth, what to do if you suddenly run out of air, and similar things. Also, during them, divers can be certified and obtain certificates confirming their abilities. It is also possible to obtain an international-level certificate at the only “Euroatlet” PADI IDC five-star center operating in the Baltic region, where the highest qualified diving instructors work. Not only are experienced divers certified here, but beginners are also taught to dive.

Recreational diving

Recreational diving is a type of diving that is most often chosen by tourists. The main goal of this diving is to get acquainted with and admire the underwater nature. Recreational diving is also practiced in Lithuania, but there are few clear bodies of water here, so it is much more popular where the water is clear and you can see fish, plants, reefs and other beauties of the underwater world after diving.

Technical diving

Technical diving is partly similar to recreational diving, but the diving depth is slightly greater. Technical diving is also distinguished by the composition of breathing mixtures, which usually contain helium or other inert gases, and sometimes diving in this way requires more than one cylinder of different mixtures. Technical diving can be called educational, the permitted greater depth provides an opportunity to see even sunken ships up close, which, by the way, are also abundant in the Baltic Sea. In order to engage in technical diving, special courses and special equipment are required, which are equipped specifically depending on the place and circumstances in which the dive will be conducted. Is technical diving an extreme sport? There is no unequivocal answer. On the one hand, the depth of technical diving is more than 40 meters, but on the other hand, diving is possible only after proper preparation, after attending theoretical courses and thoroughly familiarizing yourself with the technical part, therefore, for a certified diver, this diving should bring only pleasure.

Cave diving

Cave diving is considered not only an extreme sport, but also a very dangerous one. The main reason for this is that there is little chance of surfacing if something happens to the diver's equipment. Although such incidents are usually avoidable, as cave diving requires even more serious preparation, it is important to remember that there are also more dangers lurking here. For example, a sudden rise in water, in which case there may be no air gap in the intended space, and so on.

Diving equipment

Diving equipment is divided according to the chosen diving direction. The equipment can be amateur or intended for professionals. Some of the world's most famous manufacturers of diving equipment are " Tusa ", "Water Proof", "Seac Sub" and "Sopras Sub". In order to offer customers only the highest quality products, we offer products from recognized manufacturers, therefore, both amateur and professional diving equipment at "Euroatlete" is of exceptional quality.
